Football Recap: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Display Seals Game

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it instead of sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach commented after the contest.
